I did however manage to buy a CD copy second hand. Re-enabling copy protection? Well thats no good :/ It would be useful if the original executable file could be attached to bug report too, so we could examine how original code disabled the copy protection. We need to know the exact release of the game, for future reference. If you know of any original releases of these games, which had copy protection disabled please add a bug report about the issue. Or run the original game on Amiga/DOS/Macintosh and check if the copy protection is requested. The best way to check, is to see if copy protection codes are included in manuals, although they might often be missing with second hand games. ![]() We only disable the copy protection, if there is an original release of a game, where the copy protection disabled in code (Not game scripts). But the copy protection was not enabled again, when the graphics display was fixed, until more recently. I think my Spelljammer is C64, I don't remember an IBM version being released in a group of modules, but I downloaded a hacked version which doesn't require passwords. The copy protection was originally disabled for Ind圓 (EGA) and Monkey Island 1 (EGA) in the distant past, due to the copy protection screen not been displayed correctly at the time. I downloaded a working COTAB from somewhere else. Except for COTAB, which won't load from any version I own, I think I used unhacked versions myself. It's weird they gave the passwords since they also printed the manuals. It's what the reference card says, anyway. I think I remember having to use passwords to save SOTSB. Can your Excel program convert to an older excel version? A really older version? It shows the words but not in columns. It does know excel extensions, unfortunately it was last updated in 1998, so your files are a bit new for it. I copied three of your excel files to cd-rom and loaded them into MSWorks. I'm modding now and getting close to getting done with something I've been doing for years. If you don't have Word on your PC you should have Wordpad at least. My Windows version of SSB only requires passwords to start. Quote from: Ishad Nha on September 07, 2010, 08:34:13 PM None of the three Krynn games had any copy protection notes uploaded to this forum. ![]() Icestorm9999/ now known as Weekend Waste Monster has a lot of the copy protection codes: Start figures might be out by one place, it might be 47.634 or it might be 47,635. Then I opened the program in a hex editor and went looking for three instances of 26, each about five places apart. It seemed the list started around page 26, there were three passwords from that page. I made a rough list from the screen captures of the questions.
